The Cooper River Rowing Association ("CRRA") is dedicated to promoting rowing on Cooper River, through support of and assistance to Intercollegiate and athletic organizations in presenting regattas. Developing rowing programs for young athletes and providing academic and sports scholarships to local students. Local rowers and business people founded CRRA in 1999 as a non-profit corporation.

CRRA works with local, national and international race organizations to bring racing events to Cooper River and provide professionally organized events. CRRA also works with local business to help provide resources needed to insure a positive experience for all athletes and spectators. CRRA provides volunteers to make the events happen as well as run smoothly and keep Cooper River the preferred venue for rowing. Is also developing education programs to bring young athletes to the sport of rowing.

CRRA is proud of its involvement in initiating the addition of a Boathouse to Cooper River, which will be home to local rowing clubs and also serve as a focal point for the sport of rowing. Camden County officials have secured required funding for the project and on October 22, 2004 an official Ground Breaking Ceremony was held on site.
